Payment network Affirm has partnered with online travel platform Booking.com to be able to offer travellers flexible payment options when they come to book.
By selecting Affirm at checkout, customers of Booking.com will be given the option to choose a personalised payment plan, paying over time either by monthly or bi-weekly instalments.
Travellers who choose to stagger payments will not be charged any late or hidden fees.
“Our business shows that consumers are increasingly booking travel with more flexible payment options, as Affirm’s travel and ticketing purchase volume grew nearly 50% year-over-year during the quarter ending June 30,” said Wayne Pommen, Affirm’s chief revenue officer.
Affirm is already available at checkout across several Booking Holdings travel brands, expanding on existing partnerships with KAYAK, Agoda, and Priceline.
“Expanding our relationship with Booking Holdings enables us to provide Booking.com customers with increased access to responsible credit, given Affirm only approves purchases we believe can and will be repaid,” Pommen added.
Affirm boasts a network of more than 254,000 merchants, including American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, CheapOair, and Vacasa.
Affirm became the exclusive US pay-over-time partner of Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific in July this year.
The payment network formed a partnership with US-based travel search engine KAYAK at the start of the year, becoming its exclusive pay-over-time provider in the US.
