Open Banking platform Tink has appointed Tom Pope as its new UK head and has promoted Tasha Chouhan to UK and IE banking lead, following the departure of head of UK and Ireland Rafa Plantier.

Pope, who joined Tink in June 2021 as head of payments and platforms, will now lead both the UK office and the global payments business.

Before joining Tink, he ran product strategy and new product management for FIS and was head of growth and commercialisation at Worldpay.

Chouhan started at Tink in June 2020, having previously been head of business development for banking services at Starling Bank and, prior to that, commercial lead at Fiserv.

In a LinkedIn post earlier this month, Plantier wrote that he was “signing off from Tink” and “also signing off from #openbanking”.

Plantier started at Tink in September 2019, according to LinkedIn, having previously worked at Stripe, where he served in a number of roles, latterly as head of banking EMEA.

Pope said: “Open Banking had a phenomenal year in 2021, with millions of consumers discovering the superior user experiences Open Banking can enable.

“Whether faster and more secure payments, better lending decisions, or accelerated account opening, it’s exciting to see consumers embracing the services we help our partners build.”

He added that Tink “is experiencing huge growth in the UK and more widely across Europe”, where it will continue to partner with banks, merchants and PSPs.
