Open Banking solutions provider Salt Edge has launched version six (V6) of its Open Banking Gateway API, having unveiled the previous version back in 2019.
Salt Edge is releasing the newest version of its account information API first, with the payments API slated to “follow suit in short order”.
In a press statement, the company called the newest version “a direct outcome of listening to the clients and Salt Edge’s in-house knowledge and expertise”.
Among the key updates and enhancements incorporated into API V6 is speed and ease of integration.
“Thanks to the endpoints’ optimisation, integrating with Salt Edge’s API is now easier and faster. This means smoother interactions for developers and streamlined endpoint management and maintenance,” Salt Edge stated.
Another feature of the latest version is a “consistent” API environment, regardless of the license clients choose to use.
According to the press release: “Now, through the migration to API V6, the clients using the Salt Edge license will gain enhanced access and control, being provided with the same API rights as clients with their own licenses.”
The newest version incorporates a “more dynamic and responsive system”, including facilitating real-time updates and notifications.
Another addition is the introduction of a new changelog page in the API documentation.
Salt Edge has also included a “dedicated” feedback form in API V6 to be able to gather feedback and technical suggestions directly.
“The input and insights will play a crucial role in shaping Salt Edge’s product, ensuring that it aligns precisely with evolving clients’ needs,” said Salt Edge.
At the start of the year, Italian personal finance hub Plannix integrated with Salt Edge to enable its users to connect and view all their bank accounts in one place, and to receive personalised financial insights.
Salt Edge is the lead partner of the new co-located Open Finance Show at this year’s Open Banking Expo UK and Europe in October. For further information about sponsoring and to find out more about the Open Finance Show, click here.
