Speakers from Mastercard Canada, CIBC, Portfolio+ and Atlantic Edge Credit Union will discuss leadership skills at the inaugural Women in Open Banking Meetup for Canadian members on June 11.
The fireside chat, titled ‘The things I’ve learned on the way to becoming a leader’, will be moderated by Donna Galloway, vice president, marketing at Portfolio+.
She will be joined by Ellie Zolghadr, director, solution architect for BigTech and FinTech at Mastercard Canada, Shruti Awasthi, director, Open Banking strategy at CIBC and Shanti Samaroo, Atlantic Edge Credit Union’s chief financial officer for a conversation on how to cultivate strong leadership skills within yourself and your team.
Members can expect to hear personal stories of growth, including the “trade-offs” that the panellists have been required to make to rise through the ranks, and will discover how today’s future leaders can strike a balance between the personal and the professional, while bringing their authentic selves to the workplace to create tangible business impact.
Samaroo told Open Banking Expo that strong leadership looks like “one who is not easily swayed by the noise but is able to lead and empower the team in steady, progressive manner”.
Following the discussion, there will be an opportunity to network with other members and mentors or mentees over drinks.
The Meetup takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from 16.30 ET on June 11.
