UK-based The Advantage Travel Partnership has teamed up with payments specialist Boodil to launch a fully self-branded payments portal for its members that uses Open Banking technology.
The partnership aims to make it easier and more cost-efficient for members, who are independently-owned travel agents and travel management companies, to manage payment collections from customers using Boodil’s Pay by Bank.
Via the new payments portal, members will be able to collect customer payments remotely and without manual intervention, either in-person or by issuing a unique customer link or QR code.
Members can embed the payment portal into their website to encourage more customers to Pay by Bank.
Paul Nunn, chief operating officer at The Advantage Travel Partnership, said: “Whilst many consumers still largely favour paying by card, Boodil offers a fresh, modern approach to payment collection which we believe will continue to increase in preference.
“Through our new partnership with Boodil, members will have the chance to offer an alternative payment method to their customers, as well as mitigate merchant processing costs.”
As a global network, The Advantage Travel Partnership’s members generate more than £15.6 billion in global sales annually – with £7.6 billion from travel sales from its UK membership.
Dally Singh, co-founder of Boodil, added: “We are delighted to be working with a company as distinguished as The Advantage Travel Partnership to roll out our product across their members and support their respective businesses.
“The concept behind Boodil’s core cloud-based product is to make collecting payments from customers easier and safer, offer a solution which is cost effective, and provide a product that seamlessly integrates within any business.”
