Instant payment provider Zimpler has set up a technical partnership with widely-used Swedish payments app Swish to provide Zimpler’s merchants with a payment solution that “addresses the needs” of both large and small transactions.

The new payment solution combines Zimpler’s account-to-account payments offering and Swish’s transaction capabilities.

The partnership relies on key Nordic banking partners, which will play a “crucial role” in providing the infrastructure required to enable “seamless” integrations.

Swish launched in 2012 as a collaboration between Sweden’s largest banks and is now considered the “most trusted payment method” in the country for small transactions.

However, according to the press release, Swish’s daily transaction limits can be “restrictive” for businesses handling larger amounts, sometimes resulting in failed payments and potential loss of sales.

Through the technical partnership, Zimpler’s “smart routing platform” intends to address these challenges by guiding users to the best payment method for each transaction, helping to reduce errors and boost conversion rates.

“Our partnership with Swish allows us to offer a comprehensive payment solution that addresses the needs of both small and large transactions,” said Johan Strand, chief executive officer of Zimpler.

“This collaboration ensures that our merchants can provide a frictionless payment experience to their customers, significantly improving efficiency and satisfaction.”

Zimpler, also founded in 2012, connects companies with more than 350 million customer bank accounts in 25 markets.

Urban Höglund, Swish’s chief executive officer, added: “Our 8.5 million users are used to instant and reliable payments and this partnership strengthens just that, with a seamless, fast and secure payment experience.

“Together, we aim to enhance efficiency for merchants and their customers.”

Zimpler recently partnered with European paytech payabl to offer merchants the option to pay by instant bank transfer at checkout.
