Ozone API has partnered with Engine by Starling, the technology arm of Starling Bank, to integrate the Ozone API platform into Engine’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) core banking platform, enabling Engine’s clients to comply with Open Banking regulations worldwide.
Ozone API’s platform offers more than 400 Open Banking/Open Finance standard APIs, helping clients of Engine by Starling to meet compliance requirements efficiently.
Beyond compliance, the partnership aims to enable Engine’s clients to unlock the commercial value of Open Banking by offering value-added services.
Through the collaboration, digital-native banks and fintechs globally will be able to combine Engine and Ozone API’s technology and expertise via a single integration, to capitalise on the commercial opportunities offered by Open Banking.
Huw Davies, co-chief executive officer of Ozone API, called the partnership a “milestone”.
“Being chosen to integrate with the platform that powers the four-time winner of Britain’s Best Bank demonstrates the quality of our Open Banking platform, and we’re incredibly excited to support their clients with ongoing Open Banking compliance and innovation,” Davies said.
Engine by Starling’s chief executive officer Sam Everington emphasised the importance of flexibility in its core banking platform to cater to clients’ needs.
“As a global leader in Open Banking, Ozone API delivers the ideal plug and play solution for Engine, to help effectively meet the needs of our clients and the different regulatory standards around the world,” he added.
Global digital transformation specialist GFT became the implementation partner of Starling Bank’s Engine by Starling last year, providing design, integration and implementation services for banks that adopt the Engine by Starling platform.
