UK-based business banking platform Tide has hired Vinay Ramani from Meta, where he was product director of AR development tools and ecosystems in London.
Ramani joins Tide in the newly-created role of chief product officer, with responsibility for driving the business’ global product strategy, broadening its small business-focused offering in the UK and India, and improving members’ experience as it grows internationally.
He will be part of the executive leadership team, working closely with Tide’s chief technology officer Guy Duncan, to advance Tide’s vision of becoming the world’s leading business financial platform. Vinay will report to Tide’s CEO Oliver Prill.
In addition to Meta, Ramani has worked at global technology companies including Uber and Google.
Prior to Meta, he was chief product officer at Pipedrive, until the company was majority acquired by Vista in 2020.
At Uber, Ramani was responsible for product organisation as the ride-hailing company entered markets including China, India, and Latin America.
Oliver Prill, CEO of Tide, said: “As Tide expands globally, we are excited that Vinay is joining our team. He brings a wealth of experience from some of the world’s best-known technology companies.
“With his laser focus on product development combined with his knowledge of international expansion, we believe Vinay will take Tide into the next stage of its development and help grow our membership base.”
Ramani added: “Working with the executive team and the product and design area, I look forward to diversifying and scaling Tide’s product offering to its around 475,000 member base in the UK, and in India where we recently launched a live app.”
In November last year, Tide announced of Funding Options, a data-driven marketplace for business finance, subject to regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority.
The deal will see Tide’s existing credit intermediation business merged with Funding Options and will be led by Simon Cureton, CEO of Funding Options.
