Jordanian banking technology provider Access to Arabia has partnered with Open Banking solutions provider Salt Edge to help local financial institutions meet the Central Bank of Jordan’s Open Finance regulatory requirements.
Salt Edge intends to harness its global bank connectivity, while Access to Arabia will use its middleware and integration expertise to unlock “countless” Open Banking opportunities.
Salt Edge entered the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in January this year, enabling the country’s banks to comply with Open Banking in just one month.
In December 2022, the Central Bank of Jordan issued an Open Finance Framework that all banks must comply with by the end of 2023.
Access to Arabia, which is headquartered in Jordan, is a software solutions provider specialising in advanced banking middleware systems and electronic delivery channels.
Its systems are used by more than 72 banks across 14 countries in the Middle East and North Africa to streamline operations and improve customer service.
By partnering with Salt Edge, Access to Arabia can help Jordanian banks to comply with the central bank’s Open Finance regulations in three months, and also to offer connectivity to a network of more than 5,000 global financial institutions.
Nabil Halaseh, general manager at Access to Arabia, said: “We are excited to partner with Salt Edge to help banks and financial institutions benefit from the power of Open Banking.
“Salt Edge’s expertise in Open Banking will be invaluable in helping us deliver a solution that is truly tailored to the needs of banks, financial institutions, and their clients.”
“Together, we are committed to supporting the Kingdom’s vision of a digital future through Open Banking and unlocking new possibilities for businesses and individuals alike,” added Vasile Valcov, chief commercial officer at Salt Edge.
