Ozone API has hired Eyal Sivan, host of the ‘Mr Open Banking’ podcast, as general manager for North America, after a stint at Raidiam.
Sivan has joined Ozone API to “spearhead” Open Banking in the region and marks the company’s expansion into the North American market.
It follows the publication last October of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s proposed Personal Financial Data Rights rule, giving American consumers the legal right to share their data.
The appointment also comes shortly after Ozone API’s Series A funding round, which raised £8.5 million.
Sivan joined Raidiam in May 2023, as vice president, Open Banking and Smart Data, having worked at Axway for three years, where he was head of Open Banking and led the development of the company’s Open Banking practice, as well as its product offering.
With more than three decades of experience in the technology sector, specialising in API technologies within the financial services sector, Sivan’s expertise encompasses management, business analysis, systems integration, and distributed application architecture.
“Embracing Open Banking is more than adopting new technology; it’s about forging a financial landscape that’s innovative, inclusive, and resilient, one that is better for banks, fintechs and customers alike,” Sivan said.
“As North America embarks on the next chapter of its Open Banking journey, I’m excited to help Ozone API drive transformation and growth throughout the region.”
The standards-based Open API platform Ozone API will sponsor season five of ‘Mr Open Banking’.
Huw Davies, co-founder and chief executive officer of Ozone API, added: “His vast experience and passion for Open Banking make him the ideal leader to spearhead our growth in North America.
“We are confident that under his guidance, Ozone API will play a pivotal role in transforming the financial sector and helping banks and financial institutions of all sizes deliver great open APIs and accelerate innovation.”
